behavior management
A simple, structured behavior management plan is used in my classroom to limit distractions and negative behaviors that may interrupt the learning process. Certain classroom rules are set forth on the first day of the school year(and are listed under the tab "Classroom Rules"). If these rules are broken, then the following steps are taken into action:
1st offense: A teacher conference with the student is conducted explaining the infraction and what is expected in future situations.
2nd offense: The student will sit out to the side and refrain from class activities for five
minutes.
3rd offense: Parental contact is made and referral to the office.
**A referral to the office is written on the first offense if the student is at risk to harm
him/herself or others.
